The position of County Clerk is best characterized as the administrative and financial officer of the Superior Court. The County Clerk's purpose is to ensure the separation of powers among the three branches of government by preserving the integrity of the judiciary. Those three branches are the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches.

This purpose is accomplished in three ways:

  • By being independent of the judicial branch, the Clerk protects the judiciary from the appearance of impropriety or unfairness in the setting of cases, implementation of orders, or investment of funds.

  • The Clerk is located in the Executive Branch of government and provides an avenue for external oversight of the judiciary, free from interference by the legislative or executive branches with its actions, integrity, or independence.

  • As an independent elected official, the Clerk ensures the public has unrestrained access to a fair, accurate, and independently established record of the court's opinions, decisions, and judgments.

Meet your Clerk

I met my husband, Shaun, while attending Washington State University—Go Cougs! I’m originally from Seattle but spent most of my childhood in Wenatchee, Washington. I come from a big family and am one of five siblings.

I’m passionate about the little things that make life feel full: fresh flowers, open windows, good coffee, and the laughter of my kids. I believe in love, happiness, and the value of simple joys.

In my free time, you’ll likely find me exploring farmers’ markets, drawing in my sketch book, or sipping a hoppy IPA. I'm a fan of Apple products, warm candles, clean sheets, and cozy nights in with my favorite movies—A Walk to Remember and Dirty Dancing top the list, or spending time at home with a true crime podcast in my earbud.

A few of my favorite things: Taco trucks, sunsets, dry shampoo, Target, the Pacific Northwest, taking photographs, painting, and Amazon Prime.

Things I could do without: Traffic, long lines, airplane travel, uncomfortable jeans, and when my phone battery drops below 20%.

Meet the Team

My siblings and I own and operate a cattle ranch on the land our great-grandparents bought in 1942. I’m raising three wild and wonderful kids with my high school sweetheart. I’m half Scottish, obsessed with wildflowers, and happiest in waders fly fishing for trout, hiking at sunrise, camping with family &friends (and our dog, Beesly), or rewatching The Office for the hundredth time.

Chief Deputy Clerk

STACY

I’m a color enthusiast who believes life is brighter in every shade. I share a birthday with my mom (best gift ever), love getting lost in books, and never turn down a good nap. Tacos are my love language, and being an auntie is my absolute favorite role.

Deputy Clerk

JESSIE

Four years ago, I moved to Pacific County after meeting my amazing husband, and I’ve been loving every adventure since. Whether it’s camping, fishing, foraging, kayaking, or spending time with our farm animals, I’m happiest outside. In my downtime, I unwind with a good book or a true crime podcast, surrounded by the chaos and joy of our six kids and two grandkids.
